Our history
MAC Property services was established in 1994 by Alastair Wood, as a franchise of Macpherson Valuation Ltd (Dunedin), Otago's largest valuation practice.
Today MAC Property is a separate company, widely recognised as the leading property services company in Queenstown and the authority on the property market.

Alastair Wood
Alastair has over 20 years' property experience. He is the licensee and a director of the company, a Fellow of the Property Institute New Zealand and the New Zealand Institute of Valuers, Associate Member of the Real Estate Institute New Zealand as well as a member of the New Zealand Land Valuation Tribunal. He has spent the last 14 years in Queenstown, covering a wide range of property sectors and issues. Specialist areas:

John Fletcher
John has over 34 years' experience in the property industry. He is a fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Valuers and the New Zealand Property Institute, and an Associate Member of the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand. John moved from Macphersons Dunedin to join MAC Property as a consultant in 2002. His focus is mainly on the Cromwell and Alexandra areas. John is an acknowledged expert in insurance valuations, addressing a number of seminars on insurance issues, and having contributed to the widely-used NZVI reference Urban Valuations in New Zealand Volume II. Specialist areas:

Doug Reid
Doug was raised in the Wakatipu area and benefits from vast background knowledge and experience across a wide range of sectors within the district. Doug completed a property degree at Lincoln University in the early 1990s, and has worked in the Queenstown property market since the end of 1993. He is a registered valuer, has Associate status with the New Zealand Institute of Valuers and holds Senior Membership with the Property Institute of New Zealand, having chaired the Central Otago Branch. Specialist areas:

Rory O'Donnell
Since completing a Bachelor of Commerce (VPM) degree from Lincoln University in the early 1990s, Rory has gained more than 14 years' experience in the property industry, with the last 7 years active in the Queenstown area, primarily in valuation and consultancy. Rory's previous employers include New Zealand employers such as Westpac and Ford Baker as well as employers in the United Kingdom. Rory is a registered valuer. Specialist areas:
- Valuation – commercial, industrial, tourism, high-end residential/rural lifestyle and development land
- Insurance and portfolio valuation

John Scobie
John has a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting from Otago University and is currently working towards a degree in valuation and property management. John's skills are utilised in property valuation, in particular property cost allocations and specific residential sector valuation and advice. Originally from Dunedin, John worked for Taylor McLachlan and Partners (formerly KPMG Peat Marwick). After five years in the audit team, he moved to Luxembourg and then London, mostly working in the finance sector before returning to New Zealand in December 2002. Specialist areas:

- Property cost allocations for accounting, tax and depreciation purposes

Mark Simpson
Mark has over 13 years' consulting experience across the property, IT and tourism sectors, since graduating from Lincoln University with a property degree in the early 1990s. He is a registered valuer with experience in the United Kingdom and New Zealand. Specialist areas:

- Valuation advice on commercial, tourism property and going concerns

Geoff McElrea
Geoff has had 10 years' experience in the property industry after completing his degree at Massey University in 1996. Geoff initially worked for Valuation New Zealand and within the private sector, gaining his registration in 1999. He was also involved in auditing the rating valuations nationwide while working for the Office of The Valuer General. Since joining MAC Property in 2005, Geoff has been involved in property management, residential valuation and research. Specialist areas:

Jason Steed
Jason completed his Valuation and Property Management degree at Lincoln University in 1999. He worked in London valuing unit trusts and stocks for Kleinwort Benson Private Bank, and returned to New Zealand in 2001 where he started in commercial property and facilities management for Colliers International in Christchurch, managing a range of properties from bulk retail to multi-storey office buildings. Jason joined MAC Property as a commercial property manager in September 2003. Specialist areas:

Angela Hill
Angela has been working within the Real Estate industrial fro the past 5 years. She has gained her experience through working as a Commercial Leasing Agent for Colliers International in North Sydney and then as a Portfolio Manager on the Telstra Corporation Ltds contract for United Group Service. She joined MAC Property as a Commercial Property Manager and Consultant in December 2006. Specialist areas are:

Sofia Roding
Sofia is originally from Sweden but has spent the last few years in the United Kingdom completing a Bachelor with honours in Marketing and Advertising. Sofia has gained marketing experience within various areas including public relations, IT as well as the non-profit sector. In London she worked for Bite Communications PR, organising events and activities raising the agency's awareness. She also worked for Cancer Research UK launching the sub-brand TODAY and organising fundraising events. Sofia joined MAC Property in April 2006. Specialist areas:
